JNU sedition row: Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid raised anti-India slogans, says 1,200-page charge sheet

The Delhi Police on Monday filed a chargesheet against former JNU Students Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar, former student activists Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, and seven others in a sedition case. In February 2016, a few students were found raising “anti-national slogans” against the hanging of Parliament-attack mastermind Afzal Guru. Police have indicted them for various offences including sedition, criminal conspiracy, and unlawful assembly. Kanhaiya Kumar has questioned the timing of the chargesheet, saying it is evident that there is a political motive behind this. Read Here
