The flared crop

Culottes have enjoyed their reign for a little over two seasons now and it comes as no surprise that the next shape isn’t too far off. While the cropped length remains the same as before, the flared detail stands out. The shape of the pants is fitted or whittled from the leg and only flares out at the hem. This could be called a shorter version of the bell-bottom. This detail was carried out in solid colours for formalwear like Theory did. Prints, in true 70s fashion were explored too, by Michael Kors and Giambattista Valli.
