For most fashion lovers, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the biggest sales event of the season. In my case, it’s that special time of year where the two dueling sides of my personality—the bargain shopper and the designer-label snob—come together in perfect harmony and rejoice. (And then my checking account whimpers.)
Since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been going on for a while, chances are you’ve already gone through it once or twice and nabbed all your big favorites. You know, like some new booties or perhaps a couple pairs of AG or Madewell jeans while they were still around in your size. But for me, it’s all about the designer bags and accessories.
From Madewell totes to Halogen scarves, the deals are ridiculous right now, and since everyone’s been so distracted buying up jeans, dresses, and other apparel, there’s still so much left to choose from. Here are some of the best bags and accessories you can still grab during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale.
Madewell tote bags
I am absolutely in love with my Madewell tote, and if I had unlimited resources, I’d have one in every color. It’s gorgeous, functional, goes with everything, and the leather is buttery soft to the touch. Back when the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale first hit, Madewell totes were the first thing I looked for and sure enough, Nordstrom didn’t disappoint. I particularly love the Transport tote they have on sale right now because it comes with a statement-making single suede stripe. It adds some flair to this bag without detracting from its already elegant appeal.
Rebecca Minkoff Hobo Bag
Looking for a bag that’s a cute cross between a large tote and a crossbody? Say hello to your new favorite, this leather hobo bag by Rebecca Minkoff. Made with ultra-soft pebble leather with an over-the-shoulder handle and optional shoulder strap, this bag is definitely an investment, but an incredible one at that.
I’m obsessed with this crossbody by Rebecca Minkoff—the circle shape is so adorable and the croc embossing gives it just a little something extra. Très magnifique. In general, crossbody bags are one of my favorites, especially for date nights because they’re small yet roomy enough to bring everything you need. Plus, you never have to worry about finding a safe place to put it down, since they’re lightweight enough to keep around at all times.
Fall’s almost here, a.k.a the season where I wear scarves with literally everything and unabashedly consume pumpkin spice lattes at a rate that most people would probably find alarming. One of the best ways to approach this sale is to stock up on all the fall and winter essentials you probably don’t have enough of, and loading up on scarves now while everyone else still has sundresses and sandals on the brain is the way to make the most of it, IMO.
Halogen Square Buckle Leather Belt
Look, I never like shopping for belts. As purchases go, it just seems so boring to me compared to all the cute bags and shoes I could be shopping for instead. Alas, belts matter. And I was pleasantly surprised to see this simple yet stylish Halogen belt on sale for such a good discount. It’s classic, goes with everything, so you can wear it over and over again without having to think about buying another one for a while. Sounds perfect to me.
Sunglasses are a staple for me, and not just because I’m old now and my eyes get sensitive without them when I’m driving. They complement everything, can be oh-so flattering, and right now thanks to this sale, you can get some of the most popular and well-reviewed pairs from Tory Burch, Longchamp, and Prada for a hella good discount that you definitely don’t want to miss.
Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir Leather Tote
I’ll never forget my first Longchamp. It was given to me as a present by my ex-boyfriend’s mom after I got my first big post-college job. It was a deep navy blue and even though that isn’t my color per se (I’m more of a browns and yellows kind of gal, to be fair), it was love at first sight. I’m several Longchamps and boyfriends removed from that first bag now, but I still get the same tingle in my heart whenever I spot a cute one, and this leather version of their iconic Le Pliage is exactly that. It’s definitely not cheap—even on sale—but when you consider just how versatile these bags are, it’s worth it in my book. I MIGHT give in to temptation and grab it for myself this weekend, but it depends on how much damage Anthropologie’s sale-on-sale does to my checking account first.
