Spencer’s, retail business wing of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, today announced the launch of its new range of apparels for men and women. Branded as 2Bme, the apparel range was unveiled today by the sector head-retail of the group, Shashwat Goenka at the Quest Mall.
Announcing the launch of 2Bme, Goenka said the range of apparels would be officially launched on February 15 at all the eight hyperstores of Spencer’s in Kolkata and soon the products will be available at the National Capital Region as well as at the outlets in Hyderabad, Vizag, Lucknow and Chennai. Expressing his delight for kick-starting of the launch from Kolkata, he said the apparel sections in the hyper stores in the city will soon wear a new look. Explaining where 2Bme intends to be different from other apparel brands, Goenka said: “This is for the first time that an Indian brand will change its look every three weeks. 60 per cent of the range will have a complete overhaul in every six weeks”. He also disclosed that initially Spencer’s will be sourcing some fabrics for the 2Bme products specially from China apart from raw materials.
Starting price of 2Bme products will be Rs 129 for innerwear, Rs 199 for kids, Rs 249 for womenswear and Rs 299 for menswear. Highest price point will be Rs 1299 for men’s luxury stylized denim. Speaking to newspersons, Goneka said while currently apparel contributes to four per cent of total revenue for Spencer’s with the launch of 2Bme, they expect it to go up to 5.5 per cent in the first year. “We are targetting revenue of Rs 300 crore in three to four years”, he said and added that if the new range succeeds in garnering a good response they will think of taking 2Bme outside Spencer’s as well.
