Obese dachshund known as ‘fat Vinnie’ loses nine kilograms in eight months, now he’s ‘skinny Vinnie’

THIS sausage dog weighed an astonishing 17kg when it was taken in by an animal shelter in Houston, Texas.

Just eight months later, the dog formerly known as ‘Fat Vincent’, has shed nine kilograms.

K-9 Angels Rescue representative Mary Tipon found Vincent a new home with daschaund rescuer Melissa Anderson, who has documented his weight loss through a combination of a diet, water aerobics and long walks.

The seven-year-old dog was depressed and had high cholesterol when it was taken in by the rescue group, after his owner died.

It is believed he was living off a diet of fast food before his rescue.

He is now known as ‘Skinny Vinnie’ and will soon be up for adoption.
