Ludhiana-based Davinder Sandhu Impex is moving forward in multiple directions, with its focus now shifting to domestic as well as the US markets.
Currently, manufacturing 40,000 pieces a day, the company is aiming to double its production within the next 2 years.
Company MD Davinder Singh, who was recently honored with the CNBC Award for his company’s excellence in the export category, said, “Middle East remains our main market, but grow we must explore the domestic segment as well, where we are dealing with a few good firms. Now our focus is more on domestic and US market. As US is a good market, we will also develop our team there; we hope to start with shipping of containers in the current year.”

Davinder Sandhu Impex, offering Tees, winter wear, pullovers, etc, is a professionally managed company. It works with wholesalers, promotional segment and having a well-established market in Middle East. “Although we have a small margin in this system of working, compared to working with brands or retailers, we don’t believe in running behind brands,” said Davinder Singh, who is in this trade for past 20 years. He is of the opinion that there is no labor shortage in Ludhiana if companies pay them a good and timely remuneration. The concern is with government policies, which are not in favour of garment manufacturers, owing to higher cost of electricity, diesel as well as pending a refund of VAT.
