A 38-year-old woman employee of M B Ashtekar Jewellers has been arrested for allegedly duping the firm to the tune of Rs 6.28 lakh.
The police have identified the accused as Rita Gorakhnath Raikar, a resident of Ambegaon Budruk.
Tushar Ashtekar, owner of M B Ashtekar Jewellers, has lodged an FIR against Raikar with Faraskhana police station in this regard.
According to the police, the incident took place at M B Jewellers store located on Laxmi Road in a period of past three years.
Raikar worked as a customer care officer since November 2013. She was tasked with collection of dues from customers, who had purchased ornaments and invested in small savings.
