The latest version of the Apple Store app now includes purchase support for the Apple Watch. As of Version 4.1, users can buy accessories with a single tap on the Apple Watch.
However, you’ll only be able to buy items from your ‘Favourites’ list, and you’ll only be able to add items to that list from another iOS device, or via the Apple websites.
The app update also introduces iOS 10 rich notification support for “many activities”, as well as various improvements and performance enhancements.
To get the new update, you’ll need to be running watchOS 3 on the Apple Watch, or iOS 9 on your iPhone or iPad. And if you want the rich notifications upgrade, you’ll need iOS 10 instead. The total download size for the app – with the new features – is 70.9MB.
The latest version of Apple’s flagship wearable is the Apple Watch Series 2, which launched back in September this year.
We gave the smartwatch a 4/5 score in our review, praising its bright, beautiful screen, great fitness tracking, versatile GPS, solid battery life, and snappy performance.
The watch features a 38mm or 42mm case (depending on your chosen model), built-in GPS, 50 metre water-resistance, a heart rate sensor, and a 1,000 nits OLED display. Here’s our verdict:
“The Apple Watch 2 might not look any different, but the refinements that Apple has made are all spot on. If you want a smartwatch that doubles as a solid fitness tracker then this is a fantastic option.”
